Welcome to our DISCOVERY TIME PRESCHOOL Blog! I am so excited to be teaching preschool. I am a CERTIFIED TEACHER with a current UTAH TEACHING LICENSE. I received my DEGREE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION from UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY. I have a fun and educational curriculum planned that will include: THE ALPHABET, WRITING, LETTER SOUNDS, MATH, SCIENCE, MUSIC and MANY OTHER FUN THEMES throughout the year. I hope you will be able to come and discover how much fun learning can be with us!
Pre-K Curriculum
My Pre-K class is the place to get ready for kindergarten! The students learn how to act in a classroom setting and follow the classroom rules. Our class will focus a lot on the letters, their sounds and formation. I have an amazing take home reading program that students are able to participate in to give them a head start on reading before kindergarten begins! . We will be working on numbers, patterns, graphing, easy addition and subtraction. We also focus on other fine motor skills that will help them in kindergarten such as: scissor skills, letter formation and writing numbers. In addition, we will be able to study many fun themes throughout the year including: I am special, seasons, friendship, families, plants, water, weather, music and more! It will definitely be a year to see a lot of progress in your child as we prepare them for their next big step.
